Nova Central School District provides K-12 educational services and programs in 65 schools throughout Central Newfoundland.
The district stretches across the major middle section of the Island and has communities with populations ranging from 100
to approximately 14,000. Gander and Grand Falls-Windsor are the two largest towns in the region.
Nova Central School District employs approximately 2500 full-time, part-time and casual employees throughout the district
and regularly recruits for teaching and support staff. In particular, there is ongoing recruitment for guidance counselors
and Math/Science/French/Music teachers, as well as bus drivers and skilled trades workers. The district offers competitive
salaries and benefits and places a strong emphasis on professional development and training.
Central Newfoundland, because of its rural nature, has a lot to offer to someone who enjoys the outdoors and is looking for
safe and friendly communities. Hiking, kayaking, fishing and camping are some of the popular outdoor pursuits in summer and
skidooing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are popular winter activities.
