The Nova Central School Board has two lines of business, Programs and Services and Student Transportation.
The Student Transportation Sub-Division oversees the operations of the board-owned bussing system for the district.
The majority of students in Central Newfoundland are bussed to school. The district operates 182 buses throughout
the district and approximately 160 drivers service over 200 bus routes. All buses are now equipped with two-way
radios or cell phones to enable regular and emergency communications between drivers and schools or the bus depots.
There are six district bus depots and 14 mechanics located in Baie Verte, Grand Falls-Windsor, Lewisporte, Summerford,
Fogo Island and Gander.
The Nova Central School Board also contracts with private operators for bussing services in specific parts of the district,
and contracts are also arranged for special transportation services as required.
